Integrity Advocate or Proctortrack?

Proctortrack is a product of Verificient Technologies, Inc. based in New York City, New York, USA and provides a solution that incorporates AI, machine learning, computer visioning and biometrics.1

We believe that organizations should be free to select the right tool based on their unique needs. The following comparison chart highlights a few key differences between our solution and others.

Proctortrack

Why select Integrity Advocate over Proctortrack?

Every organization tells you why what they do makes them better. Below, we tell you what we don't do and why that makes us the better fit for many organizations.

Proctortrack

Integrity Advocate

By default, data collected from proctored activities (including biometric data) are held for up to 180 days after a proctored test session and your identity profile and data collected for identification verification purposes (including the biometric data we use to create your identity profile) is retained for up to one year from the time the identity profile is created in our Platform.2

Biometrics are never transmitted from the learner's device. Any optional use of biometrics needs to be restricted to “on the learners device” and within their control at all times. Integrity Advocate has replaced legacy solutions that collect, transmit and store biometrics and put their clients at risk of legal action (i.e. BIPA related class action suits).

“our Services may include… Room scan - scan of the test-room environment” 3

A US federal judge stated in the judgement that not only are room scans a violation of the 4th amendment but that “room scans have minimal value for preserving test integrity because there are numerous ways students could cheat that they would not catch (Id., PageID #492.)”

Integrity Advocate has NEVER utilized room scans for the stated reason they are “theatre”, and simply violate student privacy without the slightest benefit to academic integrity. Integrity Advocate is proud to see that our stance on room scans, GDPR compliance, AI racial bias, and biometrics have all been supported by the courts and regulatory bodies.

“To comply with EU data protection legislation on international data transfer mechanisms, we self-certify under the EU-US Privacy Shield and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield.” 4

On July 16, 2020, Europe’s top court invalidated the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, stating that the Privacy Shield transfer mechanism does not ensure compliance with the level of protection required by EU law.

Integrity Advocate is directly compliant with GDPR by not collecting, storing, sharing data when not required and by not requiring the use of invasive software/plugins/extensions.

“Technical requirements; MAC: macOS High Sierra10.13 or higher, PC: Windows 7, 8, or higher, Chromebook: Version 80 or higher,MAC: Intel / AMDProcessor, 8 GB RAM, PC: Dual-core2.4 Ghz CPU, 8 GB RAM or better, Mozilla Firefox v20.0 or Higher, Google Chromev25.0 or higher…

Some security software like antivirus or Internet security software can disrupt exam delivery, and may need to be temporary disabled.”5

Users are able to use computers that they are not the administrator on as no download,  install of any extension, plug-in or program is required thus extensively reducing support requirements.

Integrity Advocate does not require the use of a computer (computers, tablets and even phones can be used), unless limited by client setting preferences. Additionally Integrity Advocate will check and restrict access to non-current Operating Systems that are no longer receiving security updates. This in conjunction with not requiring a specific browser or the installation of an application, plugin, or extension eliminates a vast number of potential support issues.

Integrity Advocate also works across various band-widths and internet conditions i.e. if internet is lost momentarily, when the LMS becomes visible again so will Integrity Advocate and the user can continue without any interruption.
